The Bernau Training and Study Exchange – a brief review

On Friday, September 22, 2023, the Bernau Training and Study Exchange at the Paulus-Praetorius-Gymnasium in Bernau near Berlin once again offered young people the opportunity to find out about various educational options. BESCO Berliner Steincontor GmbH was also present among the 125 exhibitors.

“Of course, we would like to use an opportunity like this and invite interested students from the area to get to know our company. We always try to respond to the needs of young people and to reach them in a targeted way with our offer,” says Frank Dickmann, Managing Director of BESCO Berliner Steincontor GmbH.

Numerous interesting discussions – BESCO is again represented in 2023

This year, once again, a pleasing conclusion can be drawn. In addition to exciting talks with students, parents, teachers and other companies, numerous interested parties asked for further information about an apprenticeship or even a dual study program at BESCO.

“It’s always fun to see young people finding themselves and thinking about what paths they want to take,” explains Carl Duhn, commercial manager at the natural stone supplier. “Of course, it’s all the nicer when you’re allowed to accompany exactly these next steps as a trainer. We are excited to see who will apply and start the journey together with us.”

Sights set on the future – ready for the next generation

And that was exactly the case last year. Following the training and study fair, a number of resumes and cover letters were received by the Berlin-based company, job interviews were held and test work days were used to feel even more confident about a decision. In this way, a total of three ambitious and interested young people could be found, who have been actively supporting projects and project managers in the sales, marketing and order processing departments since this month.

An internship provides clarity

This year, we are again very pleased to have participated in the Bernau Training and Study Exchange and are curious to see who can imagine an apprenticeship or even a dual study program at BESCO. Take the opportunity and do a flexible internship. Get a taste of different professions and find out if one might be just right for you. Of course, this also applies to those who could not attend the fair.

We say THANK YOU

Last but not least, we would like to thank very much the organizers, especially the main responsible Mr. Uwe Bartsch. It was again a great pleasure for us to be present at the Bernau Training and Study Exchange and to enjoy such a smooth organization.

In 2020 we saw an increase in natural stone imports from European productions to more than half of our total natural stones. For this reason, we have decided to hire an in-house inspector for southern European productions. Mr. Moreira visits the production facilities for us and monitors the agreed quality.
