Nature-inspired relaxation at its finest – The new construction of Luisenhöhe

Nestled in the picturesque landscape of the Black Forest in Horben, the Luisenhöhe Hotel – Gesundheitsresort Schwarzwald opened in 2023. Situated at an elevation of 600 meters, the hotel offers guests not only a breathtaking panoramic view but also a unique combination of relaxation, nature connection, and sustainable lifestyle. By providing belgrano® natural stone, BESCO significantly contributed to the stylish new construction of this historic building.

Luisenhöhe: A Historic Property Transformed into a Health Resort

The Luisenhöhe hotel, built in 1896 in the chalet style, has a storied history. After a fire, the hotel was rebuilt and served as a military administrative center during World War II. It was later used as a retirement home before reopening as a hotel. After several changes in ownership, the current owner took over the property and had it rebuilt.

Today, the hotel presents itself as a modern health and nature resort with 59 rooms and 24 suites. Generous windows and terraces offer views of the picturesque Black Forest landscape. In addition to a conference area, the resort features a restaurant, a bar, and a spacious wellness area with a swimming pool, an outdoor sauna, and a pavilion, all designed to invite complete relaxation. The grand opening took place in the summer of 2023, marking the beginning of a new chapter for this historic property.

Sustainable architecture in the Black Forest

The new construction of the hotel aimed to preserve the rich history of the building while creating a harmonious connection between architecture and nature. With a special focus on careful interaction with nature, particularly the preservation of the valuable tree population, a subtly designed building complex was created. The organic shape and low height of the structure blend seamlessly into the surrounding landscape, resulting in a perfect symbiosis of architecture and nature. The overall concept impresses with its simple elegance and respectful approach to the Black Forest landscape.

High-quality belgrano® natural stone – A symbiosis of tradition and modernity

The new construction of the hotel focused not only on sustainability but also on the careful selection of premium materials that preserve the building’s historical charm while meeting modern demands. belgrano® natural stone proved to be the ideal choice: with its elegant, timeless appeal, it gives the hotel an exclusive and inviting atmosphere.

The architects chose dark belgrano® basalt, gabbro, and granite. These natural stones were used in the exterior areas of the hotel in the form of slabs, gutter plates, risers, curbstones, and paving stones. The durability and weather resistance of belgrano® natural stone make it an ideal material for long-lasting construction projects.

In addition, natural stone stands out for its sustainable properties: as it comes directly from nature, it is free from harmful substances and can be extracted without the need for complex chemical processes. This environmental friendliness plays a key role in supporting the sustainability goals of the construction project.

Thanks to its natural characteristics, the stone blends harmoniously into the overall architectural concept and enhances the beauty of the surrounding landscape. This project impressively demonstrates how belgrano® natural stone meets aesthetic, functional, and sustainable requirements in modern construction projects alike.
