Location
Amtsgericht Haßfurt, 97437 Haßfurt
The new building of the Haßfurt District Court and the surrounding outdoor facilities were completed after a three-year construction period in July 2018 and the building was handed over by the Bavarian Minister of Justice. The free-standing cube became the new landmark of the entrance to the historic old town.
In an exposed location at the eastern entrance of Haßfurt’s old town, the court complex presents itself as an organizing element in the historical context of the surrounding buildings. The new building designed by Nieto Sobejano Arquitectos has been built using passive construction and meets the desire for high architectural quality and sustainability.
The Berliner Steincontor has been active as a project partner in the field of natural stone and has supplied its high-quality belgrano® natural stone for both the interior and the outdoor areas designed by Frank Kiessling landschaftsarchitekten.
The ground floor houses 3 free-standing courtrooms and is equipped with large-format Basanit floor coverings that are not only visually impressive, but also energetically. A total of around 1500 square meters of the belgrano® basanite was used for the floor design in the interior, spread over 3 floors and the stairwell. The transitions to the surrounding outside area of the building are flowing.
The barrier-free, newly created forecourt is the main entrance to the district court. In order to emphasize the radiance of the sandstone facade, gray belgrano® diorite was used for the design of the square and the furniture.
The landscape architecture firm Frank Kiessling chose the homogeneous diorite of the Berlin stone building from a large number of material samples for the design of the outdoor facilities, the connecting staircase and parts of the employee parking lot. The rectangular, monumental seating elements, which seem to float and testify to the high quality of workmanship, should also be emphasized.
All natural stone used was produced project-related and delivered to the construction site on schedule. The result is impressive, the new district court in Haßfurt is an example of high architectural quality and the advantages of natural stone.
