In 2021, the small town of Bad Salzdetfurth received a newly redesigned marketplace. It bridges nature and urban life while providing direct access to the water. belgrano® natural stone creates a harmonious link between the historic old town and the modern square, which has become a popular meeting spot. The project, realized by POLA Landscape Architects, has been repeatedly nominated and awarded.

After almost three years of extensive renovation and expansion work, the historic Posthotel Taube in Schruns, Austria, reopened its doors as a 4-star hotel on December 1, 2023. The comprehensive renovation measures were led by the Vorarlberg architecture firm bernardo bader architekten, while Rhomberg Bau took over the construction management as the general contractor. BESCO supplied around 400 tons of European granite for the design of the outdoor areas. With its reopening, the Posthotel Taube is now one of the top addresses in the region.

Once again, we take a closer look at some of our belgrano® natural stone projects, some of which were completed more than ten years ago. We take a closer look at the Porschestraße in Wolfsburg (completed in 2009), the market square in Schönebeck an der Elbe (completed in 2016), the State Archive in Magdeburg (completed in 2011) and the main square in Landsberg am Lech (completed in 2013). The Calwer Passage is the new eye-catcher in the state capital of Baden-Württemberg, Stuttgart. The passage, which is a heritage listed building, reopened in 2023 with a new concept and has since become the "place to be" in the city center. BESCO supplied regional european granite for the redesign of the outdoor facilities.

15 years ago, Ulrich Klösser, Frank Dickmann and Florian Geyer, who later became authorized signatory and sales manager, set out to make the rich natural stone range in Asia and later also in Europe available for German and European construction projects. The founding of BESCO – Berliner Steincontor GmbH in March 2003 also marked the birth of the branded product belgrano®…

Florian Geyer started his career at BESCO with an apprenticeship in wholesale and foreign trade. This was followed by positions in field service, sales, in sales and project management. With this experience, the proven natural stone expert wants to contribute to continuing the growth of recent years and increasing the company’s market presence.

At the beginning of June one of our 4 inspectors from Asia Niu visited the BESCO Team in Berlin.

In 2020 we saw an increase in natural stone imports from European productions to more than half of our total natural stones. For this reason, we have decided to hire an in-house inspector for southern European productions. Mr. Moreira visits the production facilities for us and monitors the agreed quality.
