At the Tierpark Sassnitz on Rügen, belgrano® natural stone demonstrates how spatial design can turn into lived experience. Pathways and resting zones guide visitors almost intuitively through the park. Contrasting materials introduce rhythm and surprise, while steps, seating, and paving merge seamlessly with the landscape. Each step and each touch becomes part of the encounter – natural stone as a creative partner that simultaneously provides orientation.

Colors, Seasons, and Atmosphere

Natural stone reveals its full impact when in dialogue with its surroundings. In autumn, red and golden leaves resonate with the warm tones of granite, sandstone, or basalt, reinforcing patterns and rhythms and heightening sensory perception. By contrast, concrete typically remains monochrome and uniform. It may structure a space, but rarely contributes to its artistic expression.

Artistic Design in the Urban Realm

At Starnberger Kirchplatz, landscape architect Andreas Kicherer chose a pixelated paving layout. Across the square, belgrano® granite set in a dynamic pattern draws the eye toward the church.

On Berlin’s Charlottenburg campus, a band of light belgrano® granite framed by split basalt cobbles creates strong spatial order. In combination with strikingly white granite cobblestones, it subtly separates pathways from building facades, defining both movement and gathering zones.
